Udaipur’s 7-year old girl to be awarded by President
Udaipur's 7-year old Labdhi Surana will be awarded with the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement-2017. She will be awarded tomorrow by President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi.
Udaipur’s 7-year old Labdhi Surana will be awarded with the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement-2017. She will be awarded tomorrow by President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi.
Labdhi has displayed exceptional talent in speed skating and won 62 medals including 3 International Gold medals. At an age where kids spend their time in casual enjoyment, Labdhi has made a name for herself in the international circuit.
Labdhi will be felicitated tomorrow on the occasion of Children’s day at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Labdhi’s achievements include various international, national and state level medals. She is currently preparing herself for 2024 Olympic games.
Labdhi’s proud parents Anjali and Kapil Surana claim that she is the youngest sportsperson in the State to receive the award.
Kapil Surana said that he took Labdhi to a tennis academy at the age of around 3 years. The coach there said that her thighs and legs needed more built before she could start playing tennis. To improve this strength, Labdhi was first given skating coaching. Looking at her skating performance, coach suggested that she continue in this sport. And the rest is history…
Labdhi’s coach Manjeet Singh Gehlot and Pushpendra Singh said that she practices daily for four hours with two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. She is currently studying in Rockwoods School and is also amongst the toppers in her academic pursuits.
