International swimmer of Udaipur Bhakti Sharma has been honored with Devi Award in a vibrant program held at Hotel Maurya, New Delhi. The event was organized by The Sunday Standard of The Indian Express Group.

Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj presented the award to Bhakti for her astonishing contribution and achievements in the field of swimming. 15 other exceptional women achievers of India were also honored during the ceremony.

Prabhu Chawla, Group Founder was also present on the occasion. Sushma Swaraj appreciated Bhakti’s heroic efforts. While expressing her joy Bhakti credited her success to her parents Leena and Chandrashekhar Sharma.

Bhakti Sharma had received many prestigious awards and recognitions in the past which include Tenzing Norgay Award, 11th Clevant Award, Great Women Achievers Award with her mother, Femina Woman of the Year Award and Superstar of Rajasthan Award.

Udaipur’s Bhakti receives Devi Award

Bhakti break several records in swimming which include swimming in Antarctica, she has also become world’s youngest swimmer to swim in 5 oceans and 7 seas of the world, Bhakti Sharma is the first swimmer of Asia who swim across 5 oceans. She made world record with her mother Leena Sharma for crossing English Channel.

Leena Sharma has informed that Bhakti is now focusing on Olympics 2020 and undergoing rigorous practice sessions in Mumbai.
