Udaipur’s Sumit to represent Asia in Berlin, GermanySumit Joshi and his team have been invited to present their model at the final round of Thought for Food Global Summit 2013 which is to be held in Berlin, Germany from 20-22 Sept this year.

Currently pursuing B.Tech Civil Engineering from IIT Rorkee, Sumit Joshi has done his schooling from St. Paul’s and MDS.

According to Sumit after being selected for the Final Round they were awarded 1000$ to develop their prototype. The Ingenerovictus (the name of the team) a conjunction of two Latin words meaning “to generate food” has developed an Android App which could let people donate food waste in return of shopping credit at retail stores.

They feel that this could be their small contribution towards correcting Food Disparity.

Sumit and his team are the only team from Asia out of 5 finalist teams. They were first selected in previous round where 100 teams from all over the world took part.

According to Thought for Food Global Summit’s website  it is a community of enthusiasts who energize and inspire each other and generate a game-changing action plan towards creating a more balanced, food-secure world while tackling the question “How to feed 9 Billion people by 2050?”
