Udaipur’s Tarachand receives National Award in Photojournalism
Tarachand Gawariya, a photo journalist from Dainik Bhaskar, Udaipur has been awarded with National MFI Award for photo journalism. The program was held in Mumbai’s National Sports Club.
Tarachand Gawariya, a photo journalist from Dainik Bhaskar, Udaipur has been awarded with National MFI Award for photo journalism. The program was held in Mumbai’s National Sports Club.
The honor was presided by Cabinet Minister Vayalar Ravi and a senior photo journalist and Padmashree Awardee Raghu Rai.
The photography competition was organized by Media Foundation of India (MFI) and around 338 photo journalists from all over the country participated. There were 8000 photo entries. The competition was further divided into four categories viz. General News, Sports, Art & Culture and Photo Story.
Tarachand Gawariya’s heart touching photo of a female fetus floating in a well at Bedwas, Udaipur was selected on second position in the General News category. The photo was taken in 2012. Gawariya received a trophy and Rs.30000 cash prize.
