This webinar was a part of the COVID Care Health Series initiated under the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services project for the people of Udaipur - a unique model of community care initiative in Rajasthan, to fight the COVID pandemic at micro levels.

Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services organized the first ever community specific COVID Care Webinar for Udaipur, on 31 October 2020. The Webinar was well received and participants asked questions to a team of 9 doctors from the Dawoodi Bohra community – who came in from Udaipur, Canada, Qatar and US to respond to the queries.

Questions related to specific precautions and general care against COVID infections, medication, COVID vaccine status, family health, women health, sleep management and fear management as well as elderly care were answered by the panelists.

This webinar was managed by volunteers of the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services, Udaipur, which included Anis Miyaji, who introduced the panel and the initiative to the participants and Dr Anisa Talat Tinwala, who adroitly moderated the questions and answers session that formed the gist of the webinar.

A panel of 9 doctors from different specializations participated in the webinar responded to live questions from participants. The panel of doctors from Udaipur included Dr. Saleh Mohammad Kagzi, Dr. Shoeb Kutub, Dr. Nazima Saloda, Dr. Mansoor Ali Alvi and Dr. Anis Jukkarwala. Dr. Sakina Raj and Dr. Miqdad Hussain Bohra from Canada, Dr. Ahsan Kathawala & Dr. Aijaz Hussain from USA and Dr. Ahsan Ali Pachisa from Qatar were the participants from overseas.

About the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services

A team of community well wishers and doctors launched Udaipur’s first Community centric COVID care drive by the name of Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services on 14 October.

The drive is meant to educate members and residents of Udaipur on COVID care as well as provide helpline and support services as well as home quarantine support in the form of medicines and sundry precautionary care items as well as home quarantine support. This drive, as per the health department, is scalable to other communities and can prove to be unique approach in fighting the COVID with a micro management approach.

This initiative was based on the model of SELF CARE, FAMILY CARE, SOCIETY CARE and COMMUNITY CARE, all of it leading to minimizing the instances of COVID cases in the city of Udaipur. This concept was well received by members of the health care fraternity in Udaipur, viz. Dr Lakhan Poswal – Principal, RNT Medical College; Dr Dinesh Kharadi – CMHO, Udaipur; Dr Shanker Bamniya – City COVID Care Incharge, Udaipur and Dr Akshay Vyas – WHO Surveillance Officer, Udaipur.

Earlier, awareness videos as a part of the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Services was released, which included a talk by Dr Mansoor Ali Alvi, Dr Saleh Mohammad Kagzi and Dr Miqdad Hussain Bohra. Weekly videos and regular webinars will be a part of the awareness drive under the initiative, which will be a suitable platform for all to watch, learn and be aware, leading to a safe and COVID free city.
