Spreading its wings in Rajasthan, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) encouraged citizens to join their mission by organizing a state level membership campaign today.
Stalls were set up at several places of the city where AAP activists wearing their trademark cap and broom sticks in hands were appealing citizens to join the party, which is well known for its prime aim of connecting “aam aadmi” into politics and governance to make the administration free from corruption.
Bharat Kumawat, district secretary informed, “We have made 12 different teams divided in half. One half is doing door-to-door campaign while the other half had installed stalls in various areas.”
“At present, there are 5000 members in whole Udaipur district, while around 2000 people from city have joined AAP” informed Kumawat.
The campaign was started early morning today and continued till late evening. It concluded at Fateh Sagar where AAP members appealed locals to join the mission.
On 10th January, a nationwide campaign will be organized. When asked why none of the AAP candidate contested in the last State Assembly Election 2013, Bharat Kumawat said that all AAP activists were busy in promoting Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.
Vijay Goyal, local coordinator of Udaipur District informed that till end of January, we will announce our contender of Lok Sabha Election.
