CM was on an official visit to Mangarh Dham (Banswara), where he inaugurated the centenary year and unveiled the statue of Govind Guru, a tribal leader of Mangarh, who fought against the British Rule for independence.
Upon his arrival, CM received a warm welcome by the top administrative officials and congress party leaders at the airport.
After attending the grand function at Mangarh Banswara, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached Madri village, to inspect the progress of the Mohanlal Sukhadia Water Project (Dewas Project).
Gehlot said, “to complete all the Phases of Dewas Project is our priority”, he also targeted Katariya and Vasundhra’s BJP government for the slow progress of the Dewas Project.
“Vasundhra’s Ministry had spent only Rs. 30 crores on Dewas, but we have already spent more than that, besides this, we have sanctioned Rs. 79 lac for the survey of the 3rd and 4th Phase of the project to the Irrigation Department”, Gehlot claimed.
CM said that dream of former Chief Minister Mohanlal Sukhadia will be accomplish as soon as the other two Phases of the project will be completed; he said that Madri Dam is almost completed and Akodra Dam’s construction work will be completed in the next budget year.
The whole project will collect more than 1500 MCFT water, which will after filling the lakes of Udaipur reach Bisalpur via Ghosunda, Chittorgarh.
The 3rd phase, a link tunnel measuring 10.38 kilometers at Nathiya Thal near Gogunda is proposed and in 4th Phase, a dam at Ambava village and a link channel measuring 3.88 km is proposed near Gogunda village.
Dewas Project, which is also known as ‘Mohanlal Sukhadia Water Project’ all the water which flows towards Gujarat as waste water will be transferred to the southern part of Rajasthan and after this project there will be no scarcity of water in Mewar.
Gehlot visited a house built under Chief Minister’s BPL House Project
While, moving towards the Dam area Gehlot suddenly visited a house that was build under the CM’s BPL House Project, almost 300 such houses were built across the Bacher village, the house was owned by Shanta Bai w/o Nakuda. CM asked Shanta about the condition of the house and also inquired about the high breed ‘golden rage corns’ distributed by the State Government.
Inaugurated Rajeev Gandhi Seva Kendra
During the visit Ashok Gehlot also inaugurated Rajeev Gandhi Seva Kendra, which was built with a budget of Rs. 10 lacs. By this center, any villager can take the benefits of Government Polices, as well as this center will work as the Tehsil office, well connected with internet and other facilities.
After the inauguration Gehlot left for Dabok airport by Helicopter, from where he left for Jaipur.

Jawa ‘Rajya Safai Karmchari Aayog’ Chairman; Gajendra Singh Shaktawat, Parliamentary Secretary; Raghuveer Singh Meena MP (Udaipur), Dinesh Tarwadi Vice Chairman State STSC Commission; Sajjan Katara MLA (Udaipur Rural); Pushkar Lal Dangi (MLA Mavli) were present on the occasion.
