Udaipur Deputy mayor blames Kataria for interfering in decisions

Ten members of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) activists vandalised the party office, and burned tyres on the Kankroli-Bhilwara road on Sunday after Dipti Maheshwari's name was finalized by the party from the Rajsamand district.

All the three contenders including Dinesh Badala, Ganesh Paliwal, Mahendra Kothari on Sunday reached at the BJP office with supporters at around 11 am. Their supporters created a ruckus there and vandalised the furniture was broken and the window glasses.

The protesters also dragged the election related stuff and set them on fire along with the tyres.However a police team rushed to the scene and stopped the protestors.

Dinesh Badala of BJP said- "I am demanding ticket from the party but it has given chance to parachute candidate Dipti Maheshwari. We have 2 lakh 33 thousand voters. Our demand was that local party worker should be given a ticket.If ticket is given to local then all voters will be with BJP but an outsider will not be tolerated.But now more 250 party workers and leaders have given their resignation against party. Now we do not have any connection with BJP and will do as the public ask us to do."

When questioned about of vandalism, Badala said that people here are unhappy with the party's decision on ticket. Its effect will be seen in future.

On the other hand reacting on the incident the Maan Singh Barhat of BJP said that this is sad incident, tough the activities were unhappy they should not do such act of vandalizing, they should have talked to him and he would have escalated to the senior leaders for finding a solution.

Talking about action against those who have committed the act, Barhat said that the decision will be of the seniors and action will be taken accordingly.

A similar protest has been seen among BJP here at Udaipur after the name of the candidate for the Udaipur City constituency seat has been finalized.

Here the present Deputy Mayor and veteran BJP leader Paras Singhvi protested against BJP after Tarachand Jain has been declared as a contender instead Singhvi.

Singhvi's supporters staged a protest outside his house calling slogans against the party leaders and the Governor of Assam and Ex home minister of Rajasthan Gulab Chand Kataria.

He warned that if the party will not reconsider its decision then he will take such a decision which will have dire consequences.

The sources also suggested that Singhvi is likely to contest the elections as an independent candidate.
