President Pratibha Patil was in the lake city on 11th may 2011 for the inauguration of “Meera Medpat Hostel” for girls, which is founded by Mewar Kshtriya Mahasabha.

Rajasthan’s & Punjab’s Governor Shivraj Singh Patil along with Rajasthan’s Industry Minister-Rajendra Pareekh, Devi Singh, Bharat singh-Rajasthan’s rural development department minister, Pradeep Kumar Singh (MLA of Mandal & District president of Mewar Kshtriya Sabha Bhilwara), Balu singh Kanawat- President of Mewar Kshtriya Sabha, V.P singh- Rajyasabha MP, Gopal Singh (MP Rajsamand) were also present there."Female Education can bring revolution"- President Pratibha Patil.

Here is the list of announcements & programs:

  • Inauguration of Meera Medpat Hostel for girls by President Pratibha Patil.
  • Book release of Manav Mitra Ramcharitra (by Chatur Singh), which is based on Lord Rama’s characteristics in Mewari Language.
  • Award for social service to Pradeep Kumar Singh (District president for Mewar Kshtriya Sabha, Bhilwara & MP of Mandal) & Balu Singh Kanawat (President of Mewar Kshtriya Sabha).
  • The fund of 25 lacs was provided by V.P Singh for the further development of hostel.

The foundation of this Meera Medpat Hostel was done before 4 years (in 2006) jointly by Pratibha Patil & Bhero Singh Shekhawat. This land of the hostel was provided as the concession in the time of the previous term of CM Ashok Gehlot. The value of this land is around 4 crores now. This hostel would be capable of accommodating around 85 girls.

Words of President pratibha Patil:

President began by praising the glory of Mewar by calling it the land of valor & dedication. She stated that establishment of girls hostels in Rajasthan is silver lining where ratio of female education is very low. She expressed her joy on the completion of the hostel building construction by adding that: “When I came here before 4 years to lay the foundation stone of this hostel land, I told the team that laying foundation is so easy but to give it a form of building is the challenging task. I feel proud & satisfied to see this building which is an effort towards the education and uprising for girls. I hope that this hostel would expand its facilities & accommodation capacity.”

She uttered the importance of education and added that knowledge rules the world. India is emerging as one educated & proficient country in IT sector. Government has announced various education initiatives like compulsory & free education. She expressed her desire for the NGO & Society to come forward & take initiative for girl’s education. She also emphasized the education by saying “Education without values is like a flower without fragrance.”

President Pratibha patil also expressed concerns over the male female sex ratio by explaining the major reason behind it-female feticide. She said that when time is changing, situations are transforming the scenario, evil & wrong myth & practices like female feticide should be removed. She asked for the equality of females.

She expressed the importance of girl education by stating “Son is son till he gets his wife, Daughter is daughter throughout the life.”

Words of Governor-Shivraj Singh Patil:

Governor of Rajasthan- Shivraj Singh Patil praised the efforts of Mewar Kshtriya Sabha in terms of education for girls. On the topic of education for girls he stated: “There is nothing like the girls in rural India don’t have mind for studies, in fact they are more talented than boys. The actually initiative & exposure for education of girls in rural India is the utmost needed.”

Words of Bharat Singh-Rajasthan’s rural development minister:

Bharat Singh stated that this land of Hostel was assigned in the previous term of CM Ashok Gehlot, and now its cost if around 4 crores.

He then congratulated Mewar Kshtriya Sabha and appreciated the efforts done in the field of girl’s education.
