Field Club Election Countdown Begins

The results for various positions in the  Field Club Elections 2012 will be out within the next 36 hours as the day of reckoning, Sunday 8 th April arrives. Voting will start early morning on Sunday and the results are expected to be announced by late night on the same day.

14 dedicated members of the club are trying their luck for the office of Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Executive Members.

The election campaign which started from March 26 will come to an end by tonight. All the contenders have tried several ways to publicize themselves by holding personal meetings, distributing pamphlets, text messages and even e-mails.

According to the information, from past three years the election were conducted annually but after Club Annual General Meeting, it was declared that the session will be of two years from 2012 to 2014 and the post of treasurer will be included in election.

For the post of Vice-president, three people including Dr. Kailash Sodani, K.L Dhabai and Yashwant Anchaliya are expected to give tough fight as all of them have their own good will in the club.

The most challenging will be the election to the post of Secretary where Dr. Anuj Sharma and Satyendrapal Singh Chabda (Tinku) will have a strong competition. Dr. Anuj Sharma has served the posts of the Vice-president and also the Secretary in last two elections while Satyendrapal Singh might take the benefit of his goodwill and also the need of a new face for this position.

The newly introduced post of Treasurer is arousing suspense as both the contestants; Manish Nalwaya and Kuldeep Nahar are involved in the elections for the first time.

Voting will start tomorrow morning i.e. Sunday, 8th April at 10 am till 5 pm and the results for the same will be declared around 10 pm on the very day and around 2500 voters are expected to participate in election.
