Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced a dharna on September 28, 2024, to protest the delay in the opening to the public of the Gandhi Vatika Museum in the city. He took to X today, September 23, 2024, to criticize the Bhajan Lal government for this delay and said it was upto the latter to ensure the Gandhians are not forced to go on a hunger strike.

The dharna is planned for September 28, 2024, at Gate No.5 of Central Park, Jaipur, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, near the museum.

The Gandhi Vatika Museum was inaugurated on September 23, 2023, by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Since then the museum, which was built at a cost of about Rs 85 crore, has not opened to the general public despite Gehlot’s written reminder to the BJP government.
