A warm welcome to Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, was accorded by various district administrative officers and representatives of various social organizations, along with leaders of the district Congress offices on his arrival at Udaipur today morning.

A warm welcome to Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, was accorded by various district administrative officers and representatives of various social organizations, along with leaders of the district Congress offices on his arrival at Udaipur today morning.

Gehlot is on a two day official visit to the city and today participated in various events including a visit to the Sahitya Akademi at Hiran Magri Sector 4 and later participated as Chief Guest in a conference to be held at Town Hall. He also attended the MLSU Annual Fest, Swarnim.

Ashok Gehlot arrived at Dabok Airport at 10:50 am by a private jet. He was accompanied by his wife Sunita Gehlot and son. Gehlot was received by Mahendrajeet Singh Malwiya, Minister of Rural and Tribal Development; Mangilal Garasia, Youth and Sports Minister; Raghuveer Meena, M.P; Sajjan Katara, MLA; District Head, Madhu Mehta and Nagar Parishad Chairman Rajni Dangi.

The Chief Minister attended the Sahityakar Conference held by the Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi at Town Hall Auditorium, on the occasion a special program, “Sahityakar Amrit Samaroh”, where 27 different educational and informative books have been released by Kunjilal Meena, Commissioner and Administrative Officer of Information Centre.

On this occasion, Gehlot appealed to all present writers and authors to use their pen for social welfare and development. He said that at the present time, social values are degrading and a positive thought process is needed to protect it.

13 prominent authors were given the Amrit Award, including Abid Adeeb from Udaipur; Bhagwatiparasad Devpura from Nathdwara; Mohanlal Madhukar from Bharatpur; Shriharsh from Bikaner; Nalini Upadhyay (in photo above), Murlimanohar Manju, Jainarayan Gaud, Satyendra Chaturvedi, Suresh Mishra and Ranveer Sahay Verma from Jaipur, Madanmohan Parihar and Bhavanilal Bhartiya from Jodhpur; and Bajendra Kaushik from Kota.

The Chief Minister is also expected to attend a number of programs on 29th January; he will inaugurate Indian Redcross Society and initiate the work of Pratyush Magazine’s office at Chitrakut Nagar.

He will also attend the Cultural Fest, Mayuri 2012 at B.N. College after participating as a Chief Guest at the Adivasi Samman Samaroh at Hiranmagri, Sector 14.
