To prevent illegal construction on the bank of Lake Pichola, today BJP Legislator Gulabchand Kataria’s close relative’s yet to be inaugurated hotel was demolished by authority.

Construction which was started in the last BJP govt. in the state, it was encroaching the lake side area which was also causing possible hazard to the lake conservation.

This multi-floored, luxurious hotel is owned by Akash Vagrecha, son-in-law of Gulabchand Kataria.

Heavy police force lead by some top officials reached the spot near nav-ghat and started demolishing the hotel. Politician Mangi Lal Joshi who was once against Kataria was today not in favor of demolition and tried to stop the procedure but failed.

The construction was going on from last three years, it was when Ashok Gehlot CM, Rajasthan visited the lakes, noticed all illegal constructions around it and showed strict objection. Still, there was no possible action taken against it.

Political experts say that, it was due to the board of BJP in city’s municipal council that no action was taken against this construction but since when the party members were separated into two groups, this hotel became an easy target.

Udaipur is struggling with encroachments all over the city, every time the municipal council orders to clean up the illegal construction, dirty politics come in between.
