Voting to be Held Again at 5 Polling Stations in Jaipur; Elections for Chairman, Vice Chairman Postponed
It is not possible to conduct the elections for the posts of Chairman and Vice Chairman when the results from 5 polliing of certain ULBs are yet to be declared
UdaipurTimes, 15 Sept 2026 | Jaipur Municipal Elections News: The State Election Commission of Rajasthan as ordered fresh polls to be conducted at 5 polling stations under the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. The voting had been cancelled citing technical malfunctioning of the EVM. The repolling will be done on September 16 from 7am till 6pm on the following booths:
- Booth # 11, Ward 09
- Booth #235, Ward 18
- Booth # 343, Ward 25
- Booth #477, Ward 34
- Booth #484, Ward 34
Indelible Ink Mark
District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak stated that, as per the State Election Commission's instructions, necessary arrangements will be ensured at the respective polling stations for the fresh poll. During the fresh poll, the indelible ink mark applied during the previous voting will be disregarded, and indelible ink will be applied to the middle finger of the voter's left hand. New ballot papers will be used for the fresh poll.
Counting of Votes
The counting of votes will commence at 8:00AM on September 17, 2026, following the completion of the fresh poll at the respective polling stations, as per the District Election Officer.
Election of Chairperson/Vice-Chairperson Postponed
District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak said that the results for the above mentioned polling booths in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation will be declared on September 17. Accordingly, due to technical malfunctions in the EVMs. As the results for these urban bodies remain undeclared, it is not possible to conduct the elections for the posts of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson on the previously scheduled dates and the same has been postponed until further orders. The election for the above posts were to be held on September 15 and 22 respectively.
