Opposition leader Rameshwar Dudi on Friday termed Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria a ‘weak’ minister who ‘lacked administrative capabilities.’
Dudi used Kataria’s own observations on the Jaipur police’s performance made during the ongoing Collector-SP conference as well as speaker Kailash Meghwal’s remarks in the law and order in Udaipur division to assail the home minster and the BJP-Government.
Dudi said, “The home minister himself is accountable for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He cannot run away from his responsibilities by talking in a philosophical manner. “
Issuing separate statements, Dudi and Sachin Pilot criticized Kataria particularly for his remarks that the Police Commissionerate system was failing in its purpose. “It is surprising that the home minister is talking about ending the Commissionerate system. As head of the police department, it is his duty to act tough to improve the functioning. But Kataria has completely failed to have a control on the police department and, therefore, his administrative capabilities are questionable,” said Dudi.
“Assembly speaker saying of the home minister that the spirit that he (Kataria) displays in the House is not visible in his functioning even in his home district (Udaipur) and that the poor were not getting justice, left nothing to defend the government or the home minister,” Dudi asserted. The speaker reportedly made these remarks against Kataria at a function in Mawali in Udaipur district on Thursday.
