In a hearing on the Bail plea on Tuesday, 7 June, the Supreme Court had recognised Kejriwal as the elected Chief Minister of Delhi and not a "Habitual Offender".

The Supreme Court of India has granted interim bail to the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal for a period of 21 days, to campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Kejriwal will be on Bail till 1 June, the day that polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 ends, and has been instructed to surrender on 2 June.

The two Judge Bench of Justice Dipanker Dutta and Justice Sanjeev Khanna, while pronouncing the order, said that the Enforcement Directorate had registered the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in August 2022 and arrested Kejriwal in March 2024. If there was already a delay in arresting Kejriwal, a 21 day bail will not make a difference.

Kejriwal was arrested on 21 March and lodged under Judicial Custody in in Jail 2 in Delhi's Tihar Jail under the money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam.
