Both Congress and BJP parties thrust their strength on the last day of the electoral campaign before Lok Sabha Election 2014.

Where congress invited bollywood actress Neha Dhupia to promote their party, BJP’s women wing rallied across the city.

District Congress Committee organized a rally and invited Neha Dhupia to promote the campaign. The rally started from Jagdish Chowk and ended at Delhi Gate. Despite a celebrity appearance, the rally could not attract the crowd except few congress party workers.

Dhupia, before coming to Udaipur, attended a similar rally in Bhilwara.

On the other side, Bhartiya Janta Party organized a large rally led by Bhartiya Janta Mahila Morcha. 8 mandals with nearly 1000 women took part in this rally. The march began from Town Hall and ended at the same place.

According to the rules by Election Commission, all political parties can do their campaigning till 15th April, whereas the Lok Sabha Election is on 17th April in Udaipur’s 5 parliamentary seats.

The election expenditure cell lodged the expenses of all election candidates till 14th April. Raghuveer Singh Meena of Congress topped the chart with expense of over 33 Lac rupees, while BJP spent more than 19.5 Lac till now.

According to the expenditure officer, Kailash Choudhary, “The mass gathering addressed by Rahul Gandhi recently will come under the expense by congress candidate Raghuveer Singh Meena, although expense of landing Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter is excluded.”

Laxman Bhil of Bahujan Samaj Party is lowest among all the candidates with only Rs.55,865 of expense.
