High Court has issued a Show Cause Notice to the MLSU administration regarding the cancellation of the votes in the recent student union elections.

One of the Presidential candidates, Deepak Sharma, had appealed to the high court for recounting of the 387 votes which were cancelled for the University president polls. In his application, Deepak had also briefed that the seal at the Arts college booth number 1 that was kept for the president polls was a defected one.

Surya Praksah Suhalka, Coordinator, CSS, said, “The court has warned the University Administration regarding dual standards in the University polls. A total of 387 votes were rejected, out of which 200 of them belonged to the arts college booth”.

Suhalka further added, “We will surely win as the recounting has to be done within the period of time as directed by the high court.”

On the other hand, the winning candidate for MLSU President, Pankaj Borana said, “I was in Delhi for the past few days regarding the Delhi University student polls. I am not aware whether the High court has given any directions to the University administration regarding the poll. The issue is between CSS and MLSU and I am nobody to intervene in this.”

When approached, the Registrar, MLSU, LN Mantri said, “I have not received any orders or notice from the high court regarding the University Student Union polls.”
