The thrill got closer as the University Election’s date was declared today and the initial campaigning has already started. The MLSU campus is filled with rumors, expectations and anticipations for the candidates fighting for various posts in the running at the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Elections, 2012.

The thrill got closer as the University Election’s date was declared today and the initial campaigning has already started. The MLSU campus is filled with rumors, expectations and anticipations for the candidates fighting for various posts in the running at the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Elections, 2012.

The elections are going to be conducted on 18th August 2012 while the last date of filing nominations is 13th August. The campaigning has already started via various medium including promoting favorite candidate through social networking website Facebook.

MLSU and its affiliated colleges including CCMS, College of Arts, Science and Law will participate in the elections, which are specificall for the posts of President, Vice President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary.

Most of the student groups have disclosed the names of their representatives standing in the elections, whereas many are still keeping silent over their chosen candidates.

Ajitesh Rai, a budding student leader and grandson of MLSU’s former Vice Chancellor R.K Rai is looking confident and optimistic over his decision of contesting for the post of University President. Ajitesh is representing DSC (Democratic Students Society) and is supported by Dileep Singh Sisodia.

Another strong contender is the former President of Commerce College Pankaj Borana who also has strong support of ABVP and former President and close ally Paramveer Singh Chundawat.

NSUI didn’t announce the names of their candidates yet. The Chatra Sangarsh Samiti (CSS) was expected to announce the name of Deepak Sharma but due to the unexpected education hurdles, Sharma could not qualify for the post.

From Commerce College, contestants for the post of College President are Karanveer Singh Chouhan, Jitendra Singh Shaktawat and Vaibhav Sen. In the College of Science, four students Bhupendra Meghwal, Himanshu Ameta, Mahipal Singh and Gopal Dangi decided to fight for the position.

The College of Arts has only one candidate, Dinesh Bhoi standing for elections and College of Law has two participants Jaideep Singh and Kaushal Meghwal.

According to sources, there are 8,000 voters in the University while last year only 4,500 students opted for voting.
