Jago Party, together with Samata Manch, protested against the ‘Reservation in Promotion Bill’ which was cleared by the Union Cabinet on Tuesday. They protested in front of District Collectorate by burning an effigy of Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
They have also appealed the nation that people must understand the politics of reservation and oppose the bill, otherwise one day we will all be fighting with each other.
Leading the protests were the District President of Jago Party, Jitendra Lodha with all the important members present in the protest.
Jitendra Lodha said, “Government knows that reserved category, in spite of being very few in numbers, has a big majority in any election voting. That is why they are playing this card just to strengthen their vote bank.”
“We general & OBC’s are fools as we do not take part seriously in voting, although, that is the only weapon in our hand. But I, along with whole Jago Party team, Samta Manch and Mission 72, would like to salute the 70% people of India for not taking part in this hazardous incident & live happily as a slave in an Independent Country”, he said sarcastically.
Reservation in Promotion Bill, if passed by both the houses in the coming days, will allow reservation in promotions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in government jobs.
