Members of congress block committee Gogunda presented a memorandum to Udaipur district collector against a protest made by BJP yesterday on 8^th June, regarding death of a woman, who was wife of a security guard of Sports Minister Mangilal Garasia .

A group of congress party worker led by Lal Singh Jhala- Vice President, Rajasthan Kisaan Congress, reached office of District Collector Hemant Gera in afternoon and handed over the three page memorandum, pointing the false allegations made by BJP and blamed the opposition for politicizing the matter to tarnish the image of Mangilal Garasia and congress party.

BJP had blamed the security guard for murdering his wife and condemned the state minister for hiding the fact and allowing the cremation without postmortem.  The party also blamed police authority of Gogunda for not registering their complaint.

What’s the story?

Shankardas Rangaswami who lives in Gogunda is working as a security guard of Mangilal Garasia. Shankardas’s wife Sagar Bai was sick from past few months after she had delivered a baby boy who is now one and a half month old.

Shankardas admitted his wife to Gogunda’s Hospital on 3^rd June, there posted medical officer Dr. Pankaj Gaud was doing her treatment. On 4^th of June, Sagar Bai died due to her serious condition, as per the memorandum the death was natural.

The last rights were performed at Keriyakhedi paternal home of Shankardas in presence of both family members of Shankar and his departed wife.

Where objection came from?

On 8^th June, Ashokdas, brother of deceased woman with some BJP party workers blamed Shankardas for alleged murder of Sagar Bai. The party workers also targeted Mangilal Garasia for indirectly protecting Shankardas.

What congress says?

Lal Singh Jhala says that, the allegations against Mangi Lal Garasia are illogical and BJP is trying to frame it politically, it’s a conspiracy. Mr. Garasia has nothing do with the incident. They are demanding a high level investigation to the matter.  While quoting to one local news paper Mr. Garasia overruled accusations made by BJP.

What BJP says?

BJP extended their support to Ashokdas, the brother of deceased.

The complainant, Ashokdas says that Shankardas often abused his sister; he said that there were marks on her sister’s body. They also didn’t informed him about the death of Sagar Bai. When they went to attend the cremation they were thrown out forcefully from there.

Today, Congress party workers including Lal Singh Jhala, Madhu Mehta, Abhimanyu Singh Jhala, Kamini Gurjar, Ajay Porwal and several other workers were present at the collector office and demanded thorough investigation of the case.
