The Ashok Gehlot Government presented the Rajasthan Budget 2023-24 on 10 February 2023. This being the election year in Rajasthan, it is the last budget for the Ashok Gehlot government before the state goes to polls. It was expected that the budget will be that of savings and growth, and that that the CM will keep in mind the upcoming elections too. Here are the highlights of the budget:

  • 1000 Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools to be established.
  • 200 units / month free electricity to farmers.
  • 5% Loan Subsudy to farmers on Housing Loans.
  • 50 Battery Charging station for EV to be setup at a cost of Rs 75 Crore.
  • 50 percent reduction in Roadways tarriff for women
  • Accidental Insurance compensation under Chiranjeevi increased from Rs 5 Lakh to Rs. 10 Lakh per family.
  • All five city transport corporations in the state to be merged under Rajasthan City Transport Corporations Limited.
  • Assistance of Rs 5 Crore to the Bar Council of Rajasthan.
  • Children orphaned due to COVID to get government jobs.
  • Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Cover increased to Rs 25 Lakh per family from Rs 10 lakh per family.
  • Conference Centre to be established at Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur and Jaipur.
  • Drinking water facilities for all high rise buildings in the state.
  • Employees of autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, universities and institutions set up after January 1, 2004, to be brought under Old pension scheme.
  • Entitlement based Social Security.
  • EWS category to be covered for free under Chiranjeevi.
  • Food Safety and Drug Controllers Office to be set up in every city.
  • For students appearing in competitive examinations, there will be a one-time registration fee and no multiple fees will be charged.
  • Free CM Annapurna food packets every month along with free ration to about 1 Crore families under the National Food Security Act.
  • Free Electricity limit has been raised from 50 units/month to 100 units/month.
  • Inflation Relief package worth Rs 19,000 Crore announced.
  • Interest-free loans of Rs 3000 crore to be given to farmers from cooperative banks.
  • LPG Cylinders under Ujjwala scheme at Rs 500. 76 lakh families to benefit.
  • Medical colleges to be set up in Jalore, Nagaur, Rajsamand and Pratapgarh.
  • Post Covid Rehab centres at RUHS.
  • Psychological Centres to be set up at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
  • Rajasthan Talent Search Examination on the lines of NTSE.
  • Rajiv Gandhi Academic  Excellence Scheme extended to 500 beneficiaries.
  • Rajiv Gandhi Aviation University to come up in Jaipur.
  • Rs 100 Crore allotted to Bhilwara and Ajmer to reduce noise pollution.
  • Rs 150 Crore allocated to Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Olympiad.
  • Rs 500 crore for development of Rajasthan Feeder and Sarhind Feeder.
  • RTE Scheme extended from Class 8 to Class 12 for boys.
  • Special Task Force Under SOG to be set up to probe the question paper leak matter.
  • Udaipur allocated Rs 1,691 Cr towards Devas Yojna.
