Factionalism and Inactivity: National Congress Leadership Dissolves Rajasthan Youth Congress Cabinet
Rajasthan Youth Congress leader, Ar. Izhar Hussain said that abruptness of the decision has led to uncertainty among members, as neither the high command nor senior party leaders have provided clarification
Udaipur, Jan 21, 2026: An order issued by the National General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress Vikas Chhikara, dissolving the entire working cabinet of the Rajasthan Youth Congress has created ripples in the state's political circles.
The order, which bears the signature of Vikas along with his associate co-incharges Kapil Desai and Gyanesh Shukla, indicates dissolving the entire state executive of the Rajasthan Youth Congress as per instructions form the Congress party's national leadership, as per party sources. The tenure of all office bearers including the state general secretary, state secretary, and joint secretary, along with all other state-level office bearers comes to an end with this order.
Interestingly, growing instances of lack of participation, increasing inactivity and factionalism led to the issuing of show cause notices to nearly 200 members of the cabinet, many of which went unanswered. It is after this incident that the leadership at the helm has supposedly taken this decision as per local party sources.

As a result of this decision, the Congress leadership at the national level is expected to induct grassroot level workers, and younger, committed and loyal party workers, while at the same time also retaining a few former office bearers to hand hold the new members. Apart from providing opportunities to new talent within the organisation, young and active leaders will be given more responsibilities to strengthen the organizational structure across the state.
"Everyone was surprised when the decision came. The committee had been formed just three months ago, with more than 40 people included. There were three state presidents, but this sudden decision has left everyone wondering, and neither the high command nor the senior party leaders have clarified anything yet. However, if they have taken this decision, then the new committee will surely be formed with even greater efficiency and strength." - Rajasthan Youth Congress Leader, Ar. Izhar Hussain
This decision by the top leadership has created a stir in the state's political circles. Discussions and expectations have increased among active leaders and workers within the Youth Congress. The party aims to involve young people at all levels of the organization through the new executive committee and prepare them for leadership responsibilities. The process of forming the new state executive committee has reportedly begun, and an announcement is expected soon.
