Udaipur, October 22, 2024 - BJP leader Narendra Meena, who was upset after not receiving a ticket for the Salumber Assembly by-election, was called to Jaipur yesterday, October 21, to meet with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Meena appears placated after this meeting.

Accompanying him to Jaipur were Nimbahera MLA Shrichand Kriplani and Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi. 

Readers may recall that a day earlier, on October 20, the BJP leader had burst into tears in front of his supporters and party workers during a rally when he came to know that he had been denied a ticket for the Salumber Assembly seat. Instead, the ticket had been given to Shantadevi Meena, wife of the late MLA Amritlal Meena. 

Meena was the key contender for this seat. On hearing the news, the visibly upset leader gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the party high command to reverse the decision. However, he was called to Jaipur for a meeting with the CM. After the meeting, the CM released a message indicating that Meena had been placated.

On his return from Jaipur, Meena also released a video. Says will discuss the issue and CM's message with his supporters in a meeting today, October 22, and then take a decision.
