After 15 years the BJP has turned the tables. As soon as the results were announced, there was happiness for BJP while the Congress leaders were looking at each other’s faces to find out what had gone wrong.

All the drama happened as results of sub- elections for ward no. 2 were declared in the morning.

Out of 5525 total voters, 3303 voters cast their votes in which Durgesh Sharma of BJP got 1843 votes in his name, while the Congress candidate Pramod Khabya got 1404.

The Independent Girjesh Purohit got 17 votes and another Independent Shelaindra Singh Rao got 59 votes. Security amounts of both independent candidates has been forfeited.

Durgesh Sharma told UT This is the victory of the workers who worked day and night for the party and I had full faith and support of my senior leaders and I’ll work for the development for this Ward and especially its people who showed faith in me.

BJP is taking this victory as a sign for the upcoming Assembly elections.

This is a warning signal for the Congress. A localite said, “that there is aggression in the public against the Congress as there is no control over the prices and this has totally disturbed the budget of a common man’s family, besides this there is no limit to corruption at National Level”.
