The City of Lakes will witness the five yearly general elections of Municipal Corporation (Nagar Nigam) which is to be held on 22nd Nov. 173 contestants are fighting for the seat of Local Corporator from 54 wards of the city.

The City of Lakes will witness the five yearly general elections of Municipal Corporation (Nagar Nigam) which is to be held on 22nd Nov. 173 contestants are fighting for the seat of Local Corporator from 54 wards of the city.

The preparations are on its last stage as the local administration has already appointed election officers, security personnel and many other officials on all the polling booths.

To maintain law and order, special team of police force has done Route March in different city areas today including Jagdish Chowk, Bada Bazar, Sindhi Bazar, Gulab Bagh, Khanjipeer and Patel Circle.

Newly appointed Sector Magistrates and Area Magistrates with higher police officials will keep a close eye on more than 300 polling booths. Around 32 booths are identified as ‘sensitive’.

District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar has informed that, the administrative teams are ready and are sent to the polling centers today to prepare for the voting day.

S.P Ajaypal Singh Lamba has informed that, 28 mobile parties, 9 higher officials and 1500 police constables are deployed in the city. 100 police constables are reserved for any emergency situation.

The results will be declared on 25th Nov.
