West Asia War: Trump Calls Current Regime More Intelligent, Says Will Leave Iran 'Pretty Quickly'
British PM says it is in British interests to not take part in the escalation; the country will not be drawn into conflict
Udaipur, Apr 01, 2026: As per reports from Reuters, the US President Donald Trump has hinted at a "pretty quick" withdrawl from Iran, with a caveat that the exit will happen only if the Strait of Hormuz is opened. This comes at a time when the United Arab Emirates is joining the US operation to open the strait. Trump claimed that Iran has suggested a ceasefire. A spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Iran, meanwhile has rejected the statement about Iran asking for a ceasefire, saying that the statements made by the US President are 'baseless and a lie" as per reports from Reuters.
Iran Retaliation Intensifies
As per the Jerusalem Post, the IDF reported that missiles were launched from Iran as the Israeli air defence systems moved to intercept the missiles. As per initial reports, nearly 10 ballistic missiles were fired in the past few minutes, which make it the most significant barrage from Iran in the last few weeks. The impacts have resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure in Israel. The IDF has also warned of coordinated attacks from Iran during the Passober holiday in Israel.
Indian Navy Flags Maritime Security
As per the PTI, the Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, said that the seas have become initial arenas of conflict and are no longer spill over theatres. "At a time when the global order is marked by increasing fragmentation and friction, the seas are no longer secondary theatres whee continental conflicts spill over. Instead, they are becoming the first arena where strategic intent is signalled and contested, often with disproportionate consequences" - Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Chief of Staff, Indian Navy.
Israel Strikes
The Israel Air Force has indicated a wave of extensive strikes that has targetted dozens of infrastructure sites in Teheran. Iran state media has reported over 2,000 human casualties, including nearly 250 children.
Dubai Oil Benchmark
The Dubai Middle East Benchmark, which values about a fifth of the global oil supply has bene put in a perilious position. As reported by Reuters, the stoppage of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, where most of the oil produced by Qatar, Oman and the UAE is loaded has put the benchmark index at risk. Nearly 18 million barrels of oil per day is priced by the Dubai benchmark. The S&P Global Energy Platts, which is the price setting agency from Brent and Dubai, is unable to price the oil loaded in this part of the world.
US Threatens to Exit NATO
The US President has threatened to pull out of NATO, blaming the allied nations of not supporting the Iran war actively.
