Rajasthan Mahila Congress Gets a Makeover | Udaipur Women in Leadership Roles
Divyani Katara, Hitanshi Sharma, Tarika Bhanupratap and Bhagwati Dangi get powerful appointments
Udaipur, Sept 23, 2025: Women leaders from Udaipur division have been given significant ownership in the Congress Party's Rajasthan state team. Divyani Katara and Hitanshi Sharma have been appointed the State General Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Mahila Congress, while Tarika Bhanupratap has been appointed the Udaipur President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Mahila Congress. Bhagwati Dangi has been appointed the President (Udaipur Rural) of the Rajasthan Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Other women leaders include Lata Sharma from Chittorgarh, Rajkumari Paliwal from Rajsamand who have also been appointed at State General Secretary. Aditi and Safina Khan from Chittorgarh and Neha Diwan from Pratapgarh have been appointed to the position of Secretary. The developments come after the visit of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gahlot to Udaipur.
Divyani Katara, who belongs to the tribal (Bhil) belt of Mewar, is not a new name in the public domain. She has many accolades to her name, some of which include Dada Sahab Phalke Lifestyle Award, Women Achievers Award, Miss Iron Maiden, among others. She is currently the spokesperson for the State Youth Congress and is very active in the Udaipur rural belt.
Hitanshi Sharma, who has been a Councilor with the Udaipur Municipal Corporation, is related to the Late Girija Vyas. Her family members hold leadership roles in the polticial domain of Udaipur.
Tarika Bhanupratap has been active in the city's business circle for quite some time and has been in the education business since 1999. She, along with her husband Bhanupratap Singh Dhabhai formed the Rotary Club of Udaipur and also founded SheCircle India. She is the founder of National School of Design and Art in Udaipur.
Bhagwati Dangi, has also been a Councillor with the Udaipur Municipal Corporation and has been an active member of the Youth Congress.
