UdaipurTimes, Nov 6, 2026 - Awareness activities were organised on Thursday, November 5, across Rajasthan under the theme Say No to Single-Use Plastic, as part of BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026. During the programmes, people were urged to reduce plastic consumption, promote reuse and recycling and actively contribute towards maintaining a clean and plastic-free environment in their surroundings.

BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026 is being observed across Rajasthan from November 1 to 7, 2026, with support of concerned departments, urban local bodies, educational and other organisations. The aim is to protect the environment, effectively control plastic pollution and encourage people to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle.

A State-level e-waste collection and awareness programme will be organised on Friday, November 6, at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jaipur. Chief Secretary V Srinivas will attend the event.

Its objective is to encourage the safe collection, scientific disposal and recycling of electronic waste through authorised recyclers. Small initiatives such as reducing plastic consumption, ensuring the safe disposal of e-waste, conserving energy and water and making judicious use of resources can make a significant contribution towards building a sustainable and cleaner future.
