UdaipurTimes, Nov 4, 2026 - Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed senior police officers in the State to make field visits, review security arrangements and ensure a safe and peaceful environment during Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.

During a meeting on law and order held on Tuesday, November 3, the CM directed deployment of adequate police personnel at major markets, religious places, bus stands, railway stations and other crowded locations. He asked for special attention to be given to foot patrolling, night patrolling and effective police checking and barricading.

The Chief Minister said drug mafias could take advantage of the police force being occupied with festive season duties, therefore, special surveillance should be maintained over drug trafficking activities. He also directed the police to remain especially vigilant against the rise in cybercrimes during Diwali. Communally sensitive areas should be identified and kept under special surveillance and effective monitoring and action must be ensured against those spreading rumours, misleading information and provocative content on social media. He further instructed that meetings be organised with CLG members, CLG Youth and Suraksha Sakhis before Diwali.

CM Sharma directed all Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police to continuously review crime trends. He also appreciated the work of the Kalika Patrolling Units based on the positive feedback from women across the State.

Compliance with safety standards must be ensured at firecracker shops, emphasised the CM. Special surveillance should be maintained to prevent the illegal sale and storage of firecrackers. Firefighting and emergency arrangements in areas where firecracker shops are located must remain fully prepared, he said.

For the tourists visiting the State during this period, CM Sharma directed deployment of adequate police personnel and ensuring robust security arrangements.
