Udaipur Railway Station Vendors Warned Against Overcharging
A meeting of Indian Railways, led by Regional Manager Awadhesh Kumar, was held with vendors at Udaipur City Railway Station
UdaipurTimes, Nov 2, 2026 - A meeting of Indian Railways, led by Regional Manager Awadhesh Kumar, was held with vendors operating stalls and trolleys at Udaipur City Railway Station. During the meeting, held on October 31, 2026, various matters were discussed and necessary instructions issued to the vendors. These include:
1. Vendors must always wear the recently prescribed uniforms while on duty.
2. While at work, all vendors must wear their identification cards.
3. Rate lists must be prominently and mandatorily displayed at all stalls and trolleys at the station.
4. Operators must maintain all relevant documents, including medical certificates, FSSAI registration, police verification, licence fee receipts, agreements, etc., and keep them organised in files.
5. Strict action will be taken if any complaint of overcharging is received.
6. Cleanliness and hygiene must be maintained at all stalls and trolleys; dustbins should be available in good condition.
7. The responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in the area surrounding each stall will also rest with the respective stall operator.
8. It is mandatory for every stall to have a fire extinguisher and vendors must be familiar with its operation.
9. Vendors must ensure there are no loose electrical connections or improper fittings in the wiring installed at their stalls.
The problems and concerns raised by the vendors were heard and assurance given that their grievances would be duly considered. A report on the same will be submitted.
