Saree, looks just like an unstitched piece of cloth but it has wrapped inside thousands of year old glowing and magnificent Indian culture. It is the most common and popular outfit for an Indian woman, be it any occasion saree is considered the most apt for wearing.

Despite of cultural or religious divergence, saree is most preferred by every Indian women.

Though it is popular and worn throughout India, different parts of India are famous for varieties of sarees that flaunt distinctive pattern and the native art form of the particular state or region.

Bandhani and Leheriya to Splash True Colors of HoliRajasthan is famous for its Bandhani and Leheriya styles of sarees, these are essentially made by tie-and-dye techniques. Hence most of the saree from this region would either completely feature Bandhani or Leheriya pattern or at least have a touch of any of the two.

Tie-and-dye is a method processed in two steps, first is tying the length of cloth and then dipping it in the color.

While Bandhani results in dots of varying sizes depending upon the pattern, Leheriya is basically a striped pattern which occasionally results in zig zag stripes which is also based on the way the fabric is folded and dyed.

In common dialect, they are also referred to as Rajasthani Tie & Dye or simply Jaipur Sarees. A Leheriya Saree with vertical stripes would make shorter women look tall and slim while a Leheriya Saree featuring horizontal stripes or horizontal zig zag stripes would look fabulous on tall and graceful women.

At the same time, Leheriya Saree featuring diagonal stripes is the most flattering as they suit most body types. A vibrant Leheriya Saree with dyed stripes usually features a contrast colored lace or zari patch along the border which makes the Leheriya Saree look even better.

As we know that The Festival of Colors – HOLI is fast approaching and Rajasthani tie & dye sarees add to our joy of celebrating Holi by allowing us to soak ourselves in the true colors of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan has its own way of celebrating Holi. Phag, Holi ka Rasiya are some of the common folk songs people sing during Holi.

Available in various colors and printed designs, Rajasthani Tie & Dye Sarees have been an all time fascination of women here, and thus, the local markets are flooded with these sarees.

Udaipur also has many shopping arcades .The ideal shopping areas for Rajasthani sarees  in Udaipur are Maaldas Street, Hathi Pole/Pannadhay Marg, Bapu Bazar and City Palace Road.

Gifts are always a brilliant way to express our feelings and bonding the relationship but presenting something that adds value to our dear one’s life can be really a perfect winning idea.

As soon as we hear the word Holi, colors splash across our mind. We begin to wonder how we can add bliss of beautiful smile to our close ones. If you are also thinking the same then a bandhani or leheriya saree can be an ideal present.
