Udaipur city’s shopping complexes Big Bazar and Vishal Mega Mart were seized as these shopping areas did not have proper fire safety provisions. After the massive fire in Gujarat’s commercial complex, administration had checked the shopping malls for fire fighting systems. Vishal Mega Mart and Big Bazar were found lacking in these safety provisions after which they were seized for a certain period.

Big Bazar and Vishal Mega Mart had asked for some time to take care of the fire safety systems in the buildings. Both the stores have been opened for installing the fire fighting equipments and for making relevant provisions so as to avoid disaster in case of fire. Vishal Mega Mart has been given a period of one month and Big Bazar has been given a week’s time but during this period they will not be allowed to run business. Administration will allow them to operate only when the 2 shopping areas fulfill the criteria of fire safety provisions.
