Imagine one fine day, you are watching clouds, the sun is shining with its whole power, rays scattering in different directions, cloud floating slightly glowing with luminescence, its shape altering and reminding of glowing lamp. Clouds have nothing unique about them. This image is your ‘imagination’, your ‘gravity’. It intensifies the life thread in you and when it happens it’s no longer remains clouds but takes on the form of an ‘image’……

This image and love led me to “Bougainvillae”, a Contemporary Art Gallery, designed in unique signature of mind’s eye. Every wall, corner and verandah of its is filled with contemporary paintings, print drawings, marble and bronze sculptors capable to renew the artistic shade of your mind.

Bougainvillea, as the name suggests, is a flower carrying the fragrance of mainstream artists from different parts of the region. The work displayed in the gallery are selected examples of few artists exhibiting their trademark style. These works are diversified in respect of techniques, measures and artistic response giving each one its own meaning, own value.

While traversing through this mind soothing art gallery which impressed me at the first sight, artifacts of two artists drew my attention dearly that is sculptor artist Mr. Bhupesh Kapadia and famous Painting artist Mr. P.N.Choyal.

Bhupesh Kapadia, owner of Bougainvillae, himself is among the few contemporary sculptor of the country who has tripped his imagination in silent stones to sculpt out the beauty of his art. The aura of his works speaks language of depreciating modern society value, touching mind sensors. The beautiful figures with distorted faces show the mirror to humans of their lost values and connection. A deep thinking running throughout every granule of structures translates artist’s mindset.

Bhupesh, in his sculptures bring saga of unmatched emotions to a periphery of ultimate liberation. Fusing and balancing thoughts with care he gives life to stones. He plays artfully with the printed surfaces on carvings revealing his poetic approach to express moving and dismal feelings but with agreeable notions. One of the examples of his desire to carve human emotions is his limestone artwork “Homage to the fading sensitivities, which I saw at Bougainvillae.

Other artist who magnetized me was P.N.Choyal. He is the painter who has  in depth knowledge of the complex development of modern art. He has his deepest roots in his native Rajasthani tradition– the tradition in which we have untold styles of miniature painting. He has always an object in nature in the process to inspire him. Mr. Choyal evolves a composition in which object is often no longer recognizable. His paintings as a whole are a transmission of natural facts, as also of sensational reality of the moment.

He introduces various tones in his subtle choice compositions which emerge out from his own fantasy of unrecognizable figures. The artist exploits his material well, both thematic and technical. It was truly a pleasure taking glimpse across the turbulent sea of his world of art.

Bougainvillae taught me, art is immeasurable treasure of human emotions, expressions and a dip in this ocean can truly change your world. It has the power to hold the life irrespective of time bounds. This gallery is a podium for art lovers to taste the evolved culture in whole of contemporary style. Someone rightly said that the aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. How true he is, I wondered every time after watching beautiful relics in Bougainvillae.
