Udaipur, April 30, 2025: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old from Samastipur in the Mithila region of Bihar, has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He received this honor after scoring a world record century against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL last night.

Nitish Kumar Congratulates Young IPL Star Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently created history in the IPL. He shared the news on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, posting a photo of his meeting with Vaibhav last year.

Nitish Kumar wrote,

"Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who scored the youngest century (14 years) in IPL history. With his talent and hard work, he has become a new hope for Indian cricket. I have also congratulated him over the phone after his brilliant performance. The Bihar government will give him ₹10 lakh. I hope Vaibhav sets new records for the Indian team and brings glory to the nation."

While chasing Gujarat’s target of 209 runs, Vaibhav scored 101 runs off just 38 balls, smashing 11 sixes and 7 fours. Many cricket fans and experts called it one of the best innings in IPL history.
