Inter-University Power Lifting, Weight Lifting and Best Physique tournament, which are being organized by Mohan Lal Sukhadiya University after 30 years, will commence from February 21, 2013 at University auditorium. For the first time ever, record 101 Universities are participating in this tournament.

A total of 900 male and 200 female participants will be competing for 72 medals (24 Gold, 24 Silver, 24 Bronze) in the three events. In the Men’s category, participants will compete in 8 weight categories in all the 3 events.

For the successful completion of this tournament, 60 experienced officials from various states have been invited which include Dronacharya Awardees, Paal Singh Sandhu and Hansa Sharma, Arjun Award winners, Tara Singh and Subroto Datta, and other internationally renowned winners in this field.

The competition will start from February 21 at 12 noon and will conclude on February 23 at 3 PM.

Chief Guests on the opening ceremony will be Rahul Agarwal, Secretary Pacific Academy of Higher Research and Education Society and Pal Singh Sandhu, former Coach of Indian Weight Lifting team. The ceremony will be presided by Professor I V Trivedi, VC, MLSU.
