Mumbai, March 20 2025: Back to back trophies by the Indian Men's Cricket squad has been rewarded sumptuously by the Cricket Board of India. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has announced a cash reward of Rs. 58 Crore for all the members of the Champion's Trophy winning Indian men's cricket squad, which includes all the members the team as well as for each member of the coaching and support staff and the members of the selection committee.
The Indian team under Rohit Sharma won its second consecutive limited overs trophy and Rohit Sharma became the only skipper to lead India to the championship trophy in all ICC tournaments across all formats.
The BCCI had, also, in February 2025 given a cash reward of Rs. 5 Crore to members of the Indian U-19 Women's Cricket team after they beat South Africa to clinch the ICC U19 Women's World Cup.
Commenting on the reward, Roger Binny said that the reward is in recognition of the hard work that has gone into winning two back to back ICC World Cups. He added that the dedication and excellence on the global stage both on the field as well as behind the scenes, deserves recognition and rewards. He further said that this performance and due recognition highlights a strong cricketing ecosystem in India.
