Eight teams secure their place in the Super League by winning respective pools

Udaipur, October 7, 2024 - On the third day of the 68th State-Level School (Under-19 Boys) Hockey Tournament, held at PM Shri Government Fateh Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, teams played their league matches as per the schedule across the four grounds. Tournament coordinator and principal, Chetan Paneri said that based on the maximum points accumulated from the league matches in their respective pools, one team from each pool has emerged as the pool winner and advanced to the Super League. Thus, a total of eight teams have made it to the Super League of the state-level tournament.

Chetan Paneri, Principal and tournament coordinator, announced that one team from each pool has advanced to the Super League based on the points from the league matches in their respective pools. As a result, a total of eight teams have qualified for the Super League.

Media co-in charge of the tournament, Gopal Mehta Menaria, shared that four teams each from Group A and Group B have reached the Super League. Digvijay Singh Ranawat, who is the selection committee coordinator, informed that from Group A, host Udaipur, Phalodi, Alwar and Ajmer have qualified, while from Group B, Kekri, Shahpura, Bikaner and Sirohi won their pools and entered the Super League.

Yesterday’s results from all four grounds:

Astroturf Hockey Ground in the Sports Village: In the morning session, Alwar defeated Hanumangarh 2-1, Beawar beat Pratapgarh 8-1, Tonk thrashed Bundi 10-0, host Udaipur overwhelmed Sanchore 9-0, and Chittorgarh defeated Jaipur 6-1. In the evening session, Alwar blanked Pratapgarh 7-0, Hanumangarh crushed Jaipur 23-0, Tonk won against Sanchore 6-0, Udaipur shut out Balotra 8-0, Alwar beat Chittorgarh 6-0, and Ajmer trounced Anupgarh 12-0 to win their respective league matches.

Tournament observer Dr Govind Singh Rathore shared that at the Fateh School ground, morning matches saw Shri Ganganagar defeat Churu 5-0, Bhilwara blank Jodhpur 9-0, Sikar crush Dungarpur 8-0, Sirohi narrowly edge out Bharatpur 1-0 and Baran overcome Salumber 4-1. In the evening session, Bhilwara routed Bharatpur 7-1, Sirohi demolished Jodhpur 17-0, Sikar beat Churu 5-1, Bikaner thumped Dungarpur 7-0, Bharatpur overpowered Salumber 5-0 and Jodhpur edged Baran 3-1 to claim their league wins.

Tournament co-secretary Dr Dharmendra Singh Shaktawat informed that at Vidya Bhavan ground, in the morning session, Shahpura beat Jalore 4-1, Udaipur defeated Jaipur Rural 3-0, Dholpur narrowly beat Banswara 1-0, Kekri triumphed over Rajsamand 1-0 and Karauli won against Didwana (Kuchaman City) 3-0. In the evening session, Rajsamand beat Karauli 1-0, the Kekri vs Behror (Kotputli) match ended in a 0-0 draw, Udaipur edged past Banswara 1-0, Shahpura defeated Dholpur 2-0 and Jalore won against Jaipur Rural 1-0 to secure their league matches.

Control room member and coach Dr Maheshwarpal Singh Soda reported that at BN College ground, in the morning session, Ajmer beat Jhunjhunu 2-0, Phalodi defeated Pali 1-0, Nagaur overcame Dausa 4-0, Barmer beat Neem Ka Thana 5-0 and Jodhpur Rural thrashed Anupgarh 13-0. In the evening session, Jaisalmer crushed Kota 6-0, Barmer edged Pali 1-0, Jhunjhunu beat Dausa 2-0, Phalodi thumped Jaisalmer 6-0, Jodhpur Rural won against Nagaur 4-1 and Kota narrowly beat Neem Ka Thana 1-0 to win their respective league matches.
