Proposal for an 8-laned all weather swimming pool in Khelgaon has received thumbs-up from administration. It may be noted that the all weather swimming pool in Jaipur has only 6 lanes. In a meeting presided by Collector Mallick, decision for an all weather swimming pool was finally approved in the presence of UIT Secretary Ramniwas Mehta and District Sports Officer Lalit Singh Jhala.

Estimated budget for the 8-laned swimming pool is 4 crore rupees. Once this pool is made, swimming can be done throughout the year. People can avail the benefit of swimming even in winters and rainy season. As of now, swimming pools are closed down for a period of 4 to 5 months depending on the weather.

An all weather swimming pool will be equipped with heating systems and have temperature controllers as well. The pool will have an adequate covering system. It was also decided that UIT and Regional Tribal Development department will contribute 50 percent each towards the expenses of construction of this all weather swimming pool.

It has been specified that around 22 lakh litres of water will be saved once this all weather swimming pool is made. As of now, sports council needs to change pool water every year and testing of water every time attracts a budget of 4-5 lakh rupees. Once this new pool is made, recycling machines will also be installed which will recycle water every year. With this facility, sports council will not need to change the water for around 5 years.
