Finishing touches on the Narayan Seva Sansthan Para Sports Academy

The Para Sports Academy has been developed on international standards and is spread over 27 bhiga (approximately 16.7 acres) of land.

The state's first residential academy for the differently-abled is ready to begin in December 2022

Rajasthan's first residential Para Sports Academy is ready at Dabok in Udaipur. The differently abled will be able to give wings to their sports aspirations as the academy will focus on carving para sport champions in this center, which is built on international standards. It will be inaugurated by the end of the year i.e. December. This sports academy is located 18 km away from the city.

This is the first such academy which speaks of the bright future of the differently-abled and for the betterment of sports across the country. In this center spread over 27 bighas i.e. 5 lakh 20 thousand square feet, differently-abled players from across the country will be able to shape their future by joining sports. Narayan Para Sports Academy was established in the year 2019 on behalf of Narayan Seva Sansthan. However, this academy could not start due to the intermittent COVID lockdowns. Through more than 498 branches of Narayan Seva Sansthan operating across the country, preparations are being made to connect the destitue differently-abled persons from different states with this Para (Divyang) Sports Academy.

Currently, free sports coaching is being provided to the students of residential and self-employment training centers of the NSS on a daily basis. To train these differently-abled talents, NSS has arranged full-time trainers for each sport. The residential academy also has a cricket ground built on international standards. Apart from this, there will be facilities for many outdoor and indoor sports, viz. Badminton, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Javelin throw, Shot Put, Discuss Throw, etc.

Para swimming twice in five years and hosting of National Blind Cricket in 2019

In 2017, the National Para-Swimming Competition was organized for differently-abled swimmers at Khel Gaon in Udaipur for the first time. Then in 2019, National Blind Cricket was organized. Most of the matches took place at the Narayan Para-Sports Academy of the Sansthan. In the same year, Narayan Seva Sansthan also organized the National Para Swimming Championship from 25 to 27 March. In this, more than 400 divyang swimmers from 23 states including the army team participated. 9 players from Narayan Seva Sansthan have represented the institute at the state and national level so far.

This para-sports academy is built under the supervision of sports experts and as per sporting standards. The Sansthan will train the differently-abled in different types of sports by setting up a Para-Sports School for the differently-abled. These differently-abled players will, thus, be able to illuminate the name of India in the world with enthusiasm and passion in the coming times.
