Duleep Trophy Aug 29 Updates: Aaqib Dar Stuns East Zone with Sensational Two-Over Hat-Trick

Udaipur, Aug 30, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir’s young fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar created a sensation by taking a hat-trick in the Duleep Trophy. Playing for North Zone, he completed the hat-trick in two overs against East Zone. East Zone’s team was all out for 230 runs in the first innings. North Zone had scored 405 runs in their first innings. East Zone was bundled out for 230.

North Zone’s team has strong bowlers like Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, and Aaqib shone along with them. He took a total of five wickets and bowled out East Zone cheaply. In his spell of 10.1 overs, he gave only 28 runs and bowled one maiden over.

Took a hat-trick in two overs

Aaqib finished East Zone’s innings by taking a hat-trick. He took this hat-trick in two overs. On the fifth ball of the 53rd over, he dismissed Manishi (0). On the last ball of the same over, Mukhtar Hussain (0) got out. Then, on the last ball of the 58th over, he sent Mohammad Shami back and completed his hat-trick. With this, East Zone was all out.

Before this, Aaqib also took the wicket of Virat Singh, who scored a fifty. Virat made 69 runs in 102 balls with seven fours and two sixes. He was the top scorer for the team. Aaqib also dismissed Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal, who scored only 10 runs.

North Zone in control

North Zone’s team is on top in the match. With 290 runs on the board and losing just one wicket, the score at the end of second session on Day 3. North Zone are having a strong lead of 345 runs.  Wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan scored the highest 76 runs for North Zone. Ayush Badoni made 63 runs. Aaqib also batted well in the lower order and scored 44 runs. Yash Dhull added 39 runs. In the second innings, Ankit and Yash have both hit a century.
