April 22, 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their impressive run in IPL 2026 with a dominant 47-run win over Delhi Capitals in the 31st match on Tuesday. The standout performer was Abhishek Sharma, who smashed an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls to power SRH to a massive 242/2 in 20 overs. Opening the innings, he batted through and controlled the game, registering his fourth 130+ score in T20 cricket. With this, he broke the record previously held by Aaron Finch and Chris Gayle, who had three such scores each, achieving the milestone in just 188 matches.

Abhishek has shown remarkable consistency in T20 cricket. Since his maiden century in January 2021, he has scored at least one hundred every year except 2022. His most productive year came in 2025, when he scored three centuries. Notably, his last four centuries have all crossed the 130-run mark, highlighting his ability to convert starts into big scores.

Abhishek Sharma’s highest scores in T20 cricket:

148 vs Bengal (November 2025)
141 vs Punjab Kings (April 2025)
135 vs England (February 2025)
135* vs Delhi Capitals (April 2026)

SRH Register Hat-Trick of Wins

SRH’s strong total was further boosted by Heinrich Klaasen, who smashed an unbeaten 37 off just 13 balls to provide a late flourish. The team has now registered three consecutive wins after a poor start, where they lost three of their first four matches. With regular captain Pat Cummins expected to return for the clash against Rajasthan Royals on April 25, SRH will be further strengthened as they aim for a playoff spot.

Eshan Malinga Shines as DC Falter in Chase

Chasing 243, Delhi Capitals struggled to keep up with the required rate. KL Rahul scored 37 off 23 balls, but the innings lacked urgency for such a big chase. Pathum Nissanka also failed to make an impact. Nitish Rana (57) and Sameer Rizvi (41) showed some fight in the middle order, but received little support from the rest of the lineup.

Eshan Malinga led the bowling effort with four wickets, dismantling Delhi’s batting. Harsh Dubey picked up three wickets in the final over to wrap up the innings. With this comprehensive win, SRH moved to third place on the IPL 2026 points table, continuing their strong comeback in the tournament.
