March 07, 2026: The Ahmedabad Traffic Police has announced road closure rules and alternate routes ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8. The move is taken to help fans travel safely and manage heavy crowd movement near the stadium.
Several roads near the stadium will stay closed. The road from Janpath T-Junction to the stadium main gate will be closed for private vehicles. Movement between Krupa Residency T-Junction and Motera Village T-Junction will also be limited to reduce traffic congestion during the match hours.
Authorities have asked commuters to follow suggested alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. People can use the Tapovan Circle – ONGC Crossroads – Visat T-Junction – Janpath T-Junction – Powerhouse Crossroads – Prabodh Raval Circle route. Another option is the Krupa Residency – Sharan Status Crossroads – Bhat-Koteshwar Road – Apollo Circle route.
Metro Service Extended for Fans
To help cricket fans return after the match, Ahmedabad Metro services will run late. Metro trains will operate until 12:50 am. Special night services are also arranged on important metro routes including Motera Stadium-APMC, Old High Court Interchange-Vastral Gam, and Motera Stadium-Mahatma Mandir.
The India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup Final is very important for India national cricket team. India will try to end their T20 World Cup title wait in front of a huge home crowd. If India wins, it will be historic because no host nation has won the T20 World Cup and no defending champion has successfully kept the title before.
