Rahane Hints at a New Chapter Beyond Playing
While announcing his retirement, Rahane made it clear that his association with cricket is far from over. He said he now wants to contribute by helping the next generation of cricketers.
"Indian cricket has changed tremendously over the last 20 years, and I feel proud to have witnessed that journey. My chapter as a player has ended, but my journey with cricket continues. I want to share the values this game has taught me and give back to the next generation."

Ajinkya Rahane's International Career in Numbers
Rahane represented India in 85 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is. He scored 5,077 Test runs, 2,962 ODI runs, and 375 T20I runs, finishing with 15 international centuries and 51 half-centuries. He also enjoyed an outstanding first-class career, scoring more than 14,000 runs, including 41 centuries and 59 fifties.
As India's Test captain, Rahane led the team in six matches, winning four and drawing two, remaining unbeaten. His greatest achievement came during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, when he guided an injury-hit Indian side to a famous 2-1 Test series victory in Australia.
