All India (Men- Women) Inter University Power, Weight Lifting and Body Building tournament scheduled from 21-28^th February started today. More than 900 athletes from around 111 universities are participating in this competition which is being organised under the banner of Mohan Lal Shukhadia University, Udaipur.

Today in the opening ceremony, a cultural performance was given by the students of MLSU and thereafter, matches of Power and Weight Lifting were conducted. In the first session, Body Building competition for 59 and 50 Kg weight categories were conducted.

According to D S Chouhan, Secretary Sports Board MLSU, Jawed Khan is leading the Power Lifting team while captaincy of Weight Lifting team is given to Arjun Paliwal.

“A team of NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency) will scrutinize the whole tournament by taking blood and urine samples at random. Athletes found guilty would be levied with penalty of Rs. 50000 along with the disqualification from the University team and from the competition”, said D S Chundawat, Chairman, Sports Board MLSU.
