Ravichandran Ashwin Enters ILT20 Auction; Bidding to Begin on September 30 in UAE
Udaipur, Sept 02, 2025: Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired from all formats of cricket including the Indian Premier League (IPL), can now play in the International League T20 (ILT20). He can register his name for the ILT20 auction. The ILT20 will be held in UAE from December 2 to January 4, 2026. The auction will take place in Dubai on September 30.
Ashwin retired from international cricket in December 2024 and from IPL on August 27. According to a Cricbuzz report, the ILT20 organizers are in talks with the veteran spinner, and his name may be added to the auction list after completing the nomination process. The registration is still ongoing, and the last date to nominate for the auction is September 10.
“I will join the auction,” Ashwin said. “I am talking with the organisers. If I join, I hope I get a buyer.” Earlier, ILT20 used the draft system to pick players, but this year they are using an auction.

In 200 Test innings, he scored 100 runs and took 537 wickets. He took 156 wickets in ODIs and 72 wickets in T20 Internationals. He scored 3,503 runs in Tests, 707 runs in ODIs, and 184 runs in T20 Internationals. He has also taken 187 wickets in the IPL.
