Udaipur, Sept 18, 2025: The fight to go from Group B to the Super Four in the 2025 Asia Cup is now very exciting. Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 8 runs on Tuesday, making the Super Four race even hotter.

Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all won one match each. Hong Kong is out of the tournament after losing all matches. Now the fight between the three teams will depend on net run rate. Let’s see what Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh need to do to reach the Super Four.

Table Status

Sri Lanka is on top of Group B with 4 points from 2 matches. Their net run rate is +1.546. Bangladesh has played all 3 matches and also has 4 points, but their net run rate is -0.270. Afghanistan has 2 points and 1 match left. The good thing for them is their net run rate is +2.150.

If Sri Lanka Wins Last Match

If Sri Lanka beats Afghanistan, the math is simple. Sri Lanka will go to the Super Four with 6 points. Bangladesh will also qualify with 4 points, even with a poor net run rate. Afghanistan will stay at 2 points and will be out.

If Afghanistan Wins Last Match

If Afghanistan wins, the Super Four race will get tough. Then Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will all have 4 points each. The teams with the best net run rate will go ahead. Sri Lanka is almost sure to qualify because their net run rate is positive.

Bangladesh’s Chances

Bangladesh can still reach the Super Four if Afghanistan beats Sri Lanka by a big margin. If either Sri Lanka or Afghanistan’s net run rate goes below -0.270, Bangladesh will qualify. Bangladesh will hope Sri Lanka beats Afghanistan. That way, Bangladesh will get direct entry into the Super Four.

It will be exciting to see which two teams from Group B reach the Super Four in the Asia Cup 2025.
