IND vs UAE: Kuldeep Yadav Takes 4 Wickets, Gets Big Reward After 7 Years

Sept 11, 2025: Kuldeep Yadav has once again shown his class with a 4 wicket haul in India's match against UAE at the ongoing Asia Cup in UAE. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian cricket team started the Asia Cup 2025 with a 9 wicket win against the host nation, UAE.
Kuldeep Yadav was the star for India. He took 4 wickets for just 7 runs in 2.1 overs. In one over, left-arm spinner Kuldeep took 3 wickets and put the UAE team on the back foot. Kuldeep played a T20 International after one year, and he made the match special. He also got a big reward after 7 years.
POTM Award After 7 Years
Kuldeep Yadav won the Player of the Match award. By taking 3 wickets in one over, Kuldeep equaled the record of Sachin Tendulkar.
Kuldeep also made another record. He has now taken a 3-wicket haul 4 times in the Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja holds the Indian record with 5 such hauls. This was the first time in 7 years that Kuldeep won the Player of the Match award in T20Is. Earlier, he won it in 2018 after taking 3 wickets against West Indies at Eden Gardens.
Comeback After One Year
Kuldeep Yadav last played a T20I match in June 2024 against South Africa. In the Asia Cup 2025 match, he gave only 4 runs in his first over. In the second over, he took the wicket of Rahul Chopra. On the fourth ball, he dismissed UAE captain Muhammad Wasim, and on the next ball, he sent Harshit Kaushik back. Later, in the 14th over, he also dismissed Haider Ali.
After the match, Kuldeep said, “I thank my trainer Adrian. I was working on my bowling and fitness. I just try to bowl in the right length and read the batsman.”
