Cricket Cricket and Cricket...as the nation once again goes gaga over the sport that it has revered for ages, the local communities of Udaipur are not far behind in enjoying the spirit of the game.
The Royal Champions League has announced the launch of Season 2, under the Italica banner. The tournament, which will be a one day affair under strict COVID protocols, will be held on 28 February 2021. There will be a total of 8 matches under a 6-over per side league format. The auctions for the teams will be a transparent affair that is set to take place on 31 January 2021. The tournament will be held at the Rajasthan College of Agriculture cricket ground.
Talking to UdaipurTimes, the spokesperson of the tournament Ali Zari said that 64 players will be up for auction on 31 January, for selection by 8 teams whose owners will bid for the team names as well. The player selection will be under an established league format, where the participating players will be grouped under their skill sets. The owners who will bid, will also be given their team names under a lottery system. The eight teams will be split in two Pools of 4 each and a total of 4 matches will be played in each pool. The table toppers will be decided under a hybrid Points+Run Rate formula and they will go on to play the final match.

The first season of Italica Royal Champions League was held in 2019, where 8 teams had participated and a total of 7 matches were played. MLA and leader of the opposition the Rajasthan Assembly, Gulab Chand Kataria was the Chief Guest at the event, which saw Team Spartan lift the maiden Italica Royal Champions League Trophy.
