CSK’s Growing Injury Concerns

Mhatre’s injury has added to Chennai Super Kings’ growing list of fitness problems this season. Fast bowler Nathan Ellis has already been ruled out, while his replacement Spencer Johnson joined the squad recently. Khaleel Ahmed is also unavailable due to injury, forcing the team to look for more replacements. Adding to the concerns, veteran captain MS Dhoni has been dealing with a calf strain and has not yet featured in the tournament.

Before his injury, Mhatre had emerged as one of the standout young players of IPL 2026. He scored 201 runs in six matches at a strong strike rate of 177.88, including two half-centuries.
